20 Jul Now TOI today carried a suggestion of transplanting highway side trees to enable widening of the Kazakootam to Karod highway or any other road. Jiji Thomson the Cs, suggested that it was practiced in Gujarath. Well suggestion ok and but not the Gujarath example. Gujarath is a semi arid state so perhaps it was ok unlike Kerala which is a monsoon state. Beyond this no civilized country in the world plants trees on sides of the high ways as these are hazardous for the drivers as they loose their life instantly on a car crash against trees. Avenue trees are in order in suburbs and not on interstate highway sides. But in india anything will pass for the majority has given the job of imagination and dreaming to another class of people.
