20 May The looser no one is the communists and obviously they are left with huge real estate but very low real votes.
The post 1964 split of communist party was engineered by the namboodiripad faction which regained upper hand in the party as well as among the people. Then the inroads by CPM into working class and white collar and blue collar was amazing as the means and programs driving the aim was questionable at least in introspection .
India was poor, GDP was abysmally. Low and all that sold was slogans for agreat future. This like a magnet earned popularity in the states of Kerala and Bengal where the party was voted in. Then started the degradation. It is not the noble adage instead the DNA of people that often mattered. The difference between the non communists and communists faded off along with greed for money and power and inaction and fulfillment of obligations to the society. The great opening of the economy by Rao manmohan team announced the dawn of new hope, fulfillment of the dreams of average Indian. Parties became marginalized while public more demanding and expecting. So finally in the 14 elections to loksabha a right wing party bjp roared into power. The namo leadership created a new Gujarat a neocapitalist society in the language of the lefties.
While the lefties got marginalized, congress got trounced. But keep in mind in a democracy why would the congress need a third chance. Let anyone else take up the reins and rule.
The looser no one is the communists and obviously they are left with huge real estate but very low real votes.
So a solution according to biny Viswamb is a merger. Don’t worry Viswamb, even mn could nt achieve it in his life time. So u might need two or three lifetimes to make one communist party. If it happens it will be another merger which will take the party back to some better face.
But not electoral wins or power.
