Our psyche does not believe in science and products and services of science.

Our psyche does not believe in science and products and services of science.

In Thanni , kollam the waves are eating away the coastal road, which in fact should not have been constructed in the first place. Our psyche does not believe in science and products and services of science. Some of the things we accept are the medicines, doctors and mobile phones and flat Tvs.
In fact the sea has right. To occupy the space it occupies during the monsoon season.the coastal erosion though natural in summer monsoon is considered as something that could be fought with sea walls and groynes. Bothe are built with large sized granite which can come only from quarries. But quarrying is objected to by our midland community . This operation is a mafia operation and is given publicity by politicians and activists.
With the impending se level rise the Kerala shore is under threat of erosion and incursion of sea water. Unfortunately the consequences are not properly packaged and presented by the govt to the communities under potential threat.
This is years failed monsoon is another scientific manifestation which will plunge the state into power cuts and such other problems.
Even this is not nationally addressed as a consequence of climate change driven by green house gases and without any immediate solution other than switching over to noncoal Electri.icity. India produces 73 percent of needs from thermal sources using steam coal that is known for 48 or so percent ash
That has many harmful metals. Harmful to humans. The alternative is efficiency of use of electricity and pumped water. Finally to Felton no conventional sources like solar PVC and wind generations.
But on these fronts Indian science is in the back seat. Manufacturing is either under license from foreign patents or imports.
