Well many of my friends in FB asked me what was the site where I had clicked a b/w image of a oil rig on land. It is Karaikal in coastal TN. As a young lecturer I took the msc class on ft to this place. In fact I was given three or so pieces of core including a sample of basement rock, a piece of charnockite.
Another was a laminated silty shale and so on. These samples sat in the long work bench in the HOD office. But one or other hod perhaps shoved it to some obscure spot.
