07 Feb Wild animals trespassing into bordering villages.
Now we are in summer. So are the wild elephants tiger and snakes. All are looking for food and water. Summer reduced the food availability. Alternatives are very slim. The farmland is the target of the elephants. Goat and sheep are the targets of tiger. Our forests are now far more flourishing with wild animal population count.
On their part, the forest department will wait till the first incidence of wild animal attack to occur. Then they will get into action. Animals stray into the villages bordering the forest areas primarily in search of food stuff and water.
The water sources dry off quickly unlike in the past decades. The foresters are not seriously considering the implications of climate change consequences to the water holes of forested tracts.
In fact I will take the animals straying into settlements as an indicator of the climate change driven water scarcity as well as warmer nights and much warmer days. The drying under brush also drives the animals into lower elevations.
Pals it is time that you looked seriously at the consequences of climate change.
